It seems to me, somewhere along the way, we went from a society that did, to a society that tells on each other. We now judge, not cherish. We traded our callused hands for keyboards, our wisdom for opinions, and our temperance for rage. We’d rather gawk than make a real difference, grandstand than teach and wear masks of whatever suits our fancy that day, then share our real stories and bare our souls to one another. We traded our passion for the ordinary, our pride for shame and our victories for victimhood. Humanity erodes and we don’t even notice.
Stop. Look. Listen. See what you can see. There is greatness out there if you choose not to ignore it.
