Just a little #TBT.
It was about this time last year, I was driving around, jonesing for another red tail. I had released Quint end of March, 2015 and the emptiness of the mews was starting to wear on my soul.
About this time last year, the spring rains were making the wild flowers pop and I first started noticing the thistles blooming along a little country road by my house. It was about this time I started thinking about the name Thistle for my next bird.
Today, I snapped this picture. Wild thistle weeds, on that same country road, just starting to bloom.
If I am right about Thistle, my bird, being a late hatch, then probably about this time last year, she was just cracking the shell on her little egg. Funny to think that, quite possibly at the very moment I was dreaming about her, thinking about what her name would be and planning for what she would grow up to be, she was just entering the world. It’s all about timing.
Destiny brought us together. Luck and patience (on both our parts) has kept us together, so far. I can only hope for another successful season of progress and growth. The journey continues…
