So...there's this headline:
Child throws punches in video of Walmart fight
(Video link below)
So many things wrong. Here's my short list.
1. Adults should not pick fights with others, unless it's a life or death situation. I don't think life or death was happening in the shampoo isle of Walmart. This is just an embarrassment to the human race.
2. Young children should never be encouraged to join in the beating fun, unless (as before stated) their survival depends on it. Say, you are fighting off their kidnapper - then, by all means little Johnny, kick that SOB in the face. This might be the worst example of parents every recorded on video. Period. People who are saying kudos to this kid for sticking up for his mom and kicking/hitting the other lady - please do not have kids.
3. Every child should be taught to mind the basic commands of every adult. "Don't talk while I am talking." "Please sit down. "Don't smack that lady in the head with a shampoo bottle." I feel like these are reasonable requests that should be obeyed without question or lip by any child. The bystander that tried to call off the rabid kid got an earful when the little boy, without hesitation, said to her "I don't have to listen to you." Imagine that attitude in about 10 years.
4. While the video will prove useful to press charges against these two ladies (I am using the term "ladies" loosely here) and possibly help build a case to put this child in a new home, it saddens me that we live in a society where stuff like this is videoed and not stopped. Where it was mentioned SEVERAL times someone should step in, but time after time, each person declined to step up and stop the fight. People also said someone should restrain or remove the child, but no one would do it. As one lady put it - its a liability to step in, less be drug into the insanity. Better to gawk, shake our head and move on.
